Living and working in two different countries can be quite rewarding but challenging.

You have to manage your time, make sure you don’t miss any important dates and appointments, and juggle work between the two countries.

However, it also enables you to set your ground in two places and have multiple streams of income, which is always a good idea in 2021.

Moreover, if you’re anything like Eyal Dulin and have a passion for helping others, working in a country like South Africa gives you a great chance to give back to society. For instance, Eyal Dulin, originally based in the United States, now owns a consultancy in South Africa where he helps supply school supplies from the Cape Town port to small towns throughout the Western and Eastern Cape Province.

Here’s what he has to say from personal experience regarding working and living across continents:

Work Flexibly

Being self-employed proves most fruitful in cases where you wish to work in two countries. As for Eyal Dulin, he owns his own business consultancy firm in South Africa and works for a company in Bradenton training employees.

This allows him to move across continents freely while still allotting time to work.

Make Use of Technology

You can experiment with many different apps and software to help you stay on top of all your projects while living abroad. Using Google docs, a VPN, communication apps like Skype can help you stay connected.

Using cloud storage means you can access your files from anywhere, while using email allows you to keep track of every conversation, even if they’re happening in real-time or were sent weeks ago. This is important because of the different time zones.

Prepare for Travel

While working and living in different places, you can’t ignore that you’ll be expected to travel pretty often in likelihood.

While this works out well for people like Eyal Dulin, who love to travel, others may find it hard to manage. However, with time you’ll understand the key to managing jet lag effectively and find yourself making great use of the time on planes.
